Inherited Role form
When a delegated user adds or edits a role, N4 displays the Inherited Role form instead of the Role form (on page 1). Any roles or users created by a delegated user are known as Inherited roles and Inherited users, respectively. When a delegated user creates an inherited role, they can include only the privileges assigned to their delegated role.
To add an inherited role:
In the Roles view (on page 1), click .
N4 displays the Inherited Role form.
Enter a unique Role Name.
Choose a name that is short and clear.
Optionally, enter the Role Description.
From the Owner Delegated Role drop-down list, select a delegated role based on which you want to create the inherited role.
Most delegated users have only one delegated role in the Owner Delegated Role drop-down list.
If you do not select the Owner Delegated Role, N4 does not display any privileges under the Excluded field.
Include or exclude privileges (on page 1) for the role.
The Excluded field displays the privileges available in the system that you can add to the role. The Included field displays the privileges already included in the role.
N4 includes the DENY privileges by default when a delegated user creates a role.
Click Save.
To edit an existing inherited role:
In the Roles view, select the inherited role that you want to edit.
Click .
N4 displays the Inherited Role form. Use this form to edit the details of the user role.
You can also double-click a user role to display the Inherited Role form.
